Chilling mystery at Kathleen & Tim Harney Middle School as 'body discovered' on Las Vegas campus

A DEAD body has reportedly been found on a middle school campus, forcing students to evacuate.

Students at Kathleen & Tim Harney Middle School in Las Vegas were relocated to another campus for the day.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were called to the school at 6:21 am, The U.S. Sun can confirm.

The body was found on a baseball field near the school campus, which neighbors a park and unincorporated desert land, local Fox affiliate KVVU-TV reported.

Police have not identified the remains and are not yet sure if the person was connected to the middle school in any way.

However, cops confirmed to The U.S. Sun that the homicide team has responded to the scene and is leading the investigation.

Students were taken to nearby Las Vegas High School while the investigation continues.

The schools are part of the Clark County School District.

School officials are working to coordinate the release of students from the high school.

Officials also said there is no threat to students or staff, according to a statement obtained by KVVU-TV.

Located about 13 miles east of the famed Las Vegas strip, Harney Middle School hosts students in grades six through eight.

Baseball and softball are not listed sports on the school's website.

However, the Hollywood Park Softball Complex is located about half a mile from the school on neighboring property.

The complex is part of the larger Hollywood Regional Park, which has a skate park, hiking trails, and picnic areas.

Hollywood Aquatic Center is also located in the area.
