Cody Welch Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, December 19, 2012, Cody A. Welch, age 21 and a resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was the son of Jeffrey Welch and Suzanne (McCoy/Welch) Arrington, and he was born in Barrington.
In 2009, he received his diploma from Jacobs High School, where he was a member of the football squad known as the Golden Eagles. Despite the fact that he only lived a brief time on Earth, he had a large number of close friends, was a devoted supporter of the Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed the sport of frolfing (also known as Frisbee golf).

In addition to that, he liked to listen to music. He was the kind of friend that everyone wishes they had. He was selfless and would go out of his way to assist others, even if it meant sacrificing his own comfort. When he walked into a room, he brought with him a radiant smile that instantly raised many people’s spirits.

The broken pieces of his mother’s heart will never be put back together again. She promises that their love will last a lifetime. He is survived by his parents; sister, MacKenna Arrington; brother, Zachary Welch; his grandparents, John and Alice McCoy and Dave and Terri Welch and Shirley Arrington of Kentucky.

Great-grandfather, Wesley Sterne; uncles, Jeffrey McCoy and David Welch; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, especially Jamie Staedter and Danny White. He will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones. His great-grandmothers, Helen Podals and Jackie Sterne, passed away before he was born.
The viewing will take place on Wednesday, December 26, from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Willow Funeral Home, which is located at 1415 W. Algonquin Road in Algonquin. On Thursday, December 27, the viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the celebration of the Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, which is located at 111 S. Hubbard St. in Algonquin. Cary’s Windridge Cemetery will serve as the location for the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either St. Margaret Mary Church or the family directly.
